Help us give back with our Back To School drive! We are asking for school supplies to be dropped off at our store (bring your receipt!) and in return, we will give you Petey Bucks [each buck has a $5 value], that can be used towards your future purchase inside Sweet Baton Rouge. (Ex. donating $30 of supplies = $30 of Petey Bucks).
All school supplies will be donated to Thrive Academy.
Our Ultimate Tailgate event is also raising funds to be donated to Thrive Foundation. Sign up for a Jambalaya food ticket and 100% of proceeds will be donated to Thrive Foundation. We have asked each of our vendors at Ultimate Tailgate to help with donations as well!
Who is Thrive Academy?
Thrive Academy is a state-sponsored school for students who want the experience of living on a campus. The students reside in dorms during the week, giving them a chance to focus on academics and to learn skills they’ll rely on to navigate life after graduating. They are guided from Monday through Friday and then they go home on the weekends. There is no cost to attend Thrive Academy. @thrivebr_ #localssupportinglocals.

Thrive Academy began serving children in 2012, opening as the first tuition free boarding school in Louisiana. For the last decade, Thrive has offered a unique alternate to traditional day schools. Thrive’s intensely supportive boarding model allows students to unlock their academic potential and achieve greater success in life. Students board Sunday through Friday on Thrive’s 6-acre campus, where they have access to after school tutoring, clubs, sports, mental health professionals, and mentor and peer support. Collaboration among educators, behavior interventionists, counselors, and residential staff offers insight into addressing students’ needs. Students receive a holistic education on that feeds their academic, physical, and emotional needs while simultaneously developing their independence.
Thrive Foundation supports and advances the mission of Thrive Academy.
Update October 2023:
I wanted to personally say thank you to everyone who donated school supplies, bought a Jambalaya food ticket during the Ultimate Tailgate, or donated to Thrive Foundation during our Women in Leadership Pop Up, we donated $1300 to the foundation.
Most of the items we collected have already been dispersed to different departments on campus. Clothing went to the social work department and the sketch markers were quickly claimed by the leadership team to use as a shout-out award for teachers/mentors at weekly meetings.
The residential department received the hygiene items and backpacks (also donated by @studyvillebr and other donated items by @influential_brbw_network), and the school staff appreciated all of the classroom supplies and storage containers.
Each of you helped make a difference in the lives of THRIVE Academy students.
We are announcing later this month to early November something near and dear to my heart. I hope to make an impact while I'm here on earth through our community and philanthropic outreach. We are putting the final touches on something that I can't wait to share more with all of you, and future generations to come!
