Ever wondered about what brings our Sweet Baton Rouge® t-shirt designs to life? Today, we're pulling back the curtain and guiding you through the behind-the-scenes process of our t-shirt photoshoots.
It all begins with an idea. Our design team initiates the creative journey with concepts, sketches, and mockups, channeling their creativity into each distinct graphic. Collaborating closely, team members share ideas until a design is born that not only sparks joy but perhaps a few laughs too! The "She Wears T-Shirts" launch started as a dream back in October 2023 during Meredith, Samantha, and Lauren's Q4 planning meeting at 30A Blue Mountain Beach. They also envisioned new Louisiana Prep colors, Crawfish pocket t-shirts, and the debut of the Louisiana Bayou design for the first quarter of 2024.
Once the designs are polished, the focus shifts to finding the perfect combination of t-shirt and ink colors. We meticulously source high-quality shirts, ensuring they are soft, comfortable, and flattering for various body types. Then comes the fun part – styling! Our team selects props, backdrops, and accessories to enhance the designs and craft visually appealing scenes. The location is also very important and helps set the mood, and this time, we opted for the brand-new Origin Hotel Baton Rouge, where Sweet Baton Rouge® is a proud retail partner inside the hotel.
Lights, camera, action! Taking over a room at the Origin Hotel Baton Rouge, we created a mood board to create a “slumber party” look for the “She Wears T-Shirts” launch. Prop lists, inspiration shots, and shirts slated for photography were meticulously organized. Working with Photographer Kim Meadowlark, who has been capturing moments since 2019, we aimed to maintain the natural colors of the shirts in each shoot, ensuring our customers see the true essence of the t-shirt with the right balance of light and shadow, highlighting the design's intricacies. Kim and our models collaborated to capture multiple angles and shots of the t-shirts, offering a diverse range of options. The quest for that perfect shot is always ongoing.
It's crucial to recognize that our t-shirt photography is more than just creating an image; it's about narrating a story and conveying the emotions and messages woven into the design. Our goal is for you to experience the excitement, humor, or inspiration embedded in each design when you peruse our photos, which find their way onto our social media, website, and email campaigns.
